东林村在盘陀镇东北部，位于洞仔山南麓。村子北面与产山村相邻，西南与西厝村、仓里村接壤，东侧与大南坂农场的新民村相望。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村庄依托洞仔山南麓相连的山脊而建，据博雅地名网，村名由此而来。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武年间，陈姓先人在此开基，据称来自莆田，村民至今以陈姓为主。[2]

明天启四年（1624年），县府立碑禁止砍伐三樟树。民国时期此地为东林保，解放初为东林乡所辖。1958年本村归盘陀公社的东林大队；此后转入盘陀乡，1992年2月起由盘陀镇管辖。[3]
