五社村在霞美镇中部，东边是白石村和霞美村，西边靠着西崎山，南面邻黄埔村，北面与眉田村、巷内村相连。村西石门内的下周溪向东流经本村，再往中社村一带入浮头湾[1]。
名称与沿革[edit]
村里下周、西崎头、白沙、竹仔林、后田五个自然村，是由乌石迁来的林姓人聚居之地，人称「五社林」，村名取此。「五社」一称始于同治年间。民国时期属霞美乡，为五社保。新中国初期列为第四区旧镇区的五社。1959年9月组成旧镇公社五社管理区，下辖三个大队；1961年7月三大队合为五社大队，改隶霞美公社。1984年称霞美乡五社村，1990年随乡改镇。[1]
水利[edit]
村子上游有岩坑水库，1981年12月建成，库容42万立方米。[1]
