上洋村位于马铺乡中东部，是一个老区贫困村，村民聚居在望水尖山下的山间盆地中。[1]

地名由来[edit]

旧寨、新寨两个自然村都位于望水尖山的盆地上，盆地南面是一大片平坦的田洋，北面称鸡过洋，房屋建得坚固。原来的地名叫旧寨。清嘉庆十二年（1807年），本地秀才吴含辉赴考前，认为旧寨之名不雅，与村中长者商定改称上洋，此名沿用至今。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

旧属双地乡，解放后划入第五区。建队初期隶属卫星公社，1962年转入马埔公社，当时称上洋大队；1984年改为村，驻地在旧寨。[3]
