历史沿革[edit]
六石旧属龙溪县。1959年起隶属步文人民公社；1984年归龙海县步文乡管辖，1993年又改为步文镇辖区。[1]
1997年龙文区成立后，原属龙海县步文镇孚美村的六石自然村改设为朝阳镇六石村。[1]
人口[edit]
百度百科记2020年常住人口为1530人，其中外来人口813人。[4] 博雅地名网所记全村总人口为1449人、360户，未注年份。[1]
文化遗存[edit]
社区现存六石古井和六石王氏祖祠，并保留有宋代遗留的古民居建筑。[1][4]
社区内有世代相传的武术馆，村民自发组成的舞狮队曾多次参加武术比赛。[1]
经济[edit]
社区靠家庭作坊撑起经济，塑料与小五金是其特色。[1]
