路边社区位于天宝镇。据传，唐代开漳将领韩昭德辅佐陈元光入闽平乱后留守云霄，之后迁居天宝镇古城辂轩，这一地名便用作村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名原为辂轩。这里因地处「卧牛吉地」，一条大街穿过全村，村名遂改为路边。设立村民委员会后仍用此名，改为社区后也未更换。[1]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
