村名取自田边与东头两个自然村名称的首字，合成「田东」。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1979年由建设大队分出，另组田东大队；1984年设田东村民委员会。[3]

2025年1月，田东村上榜「2024年度南安市和谐村（社区）」名单。[1]

产业与设施[edit]

村民主要种植甘薯与花生。村中有卫生所、制衣厂与石板材厂，水泥路连接省道201线。[1]
