潭边村位于乐峰镇政府驻地东北约4.8公里处，聚落散布在罗溪北岸的丘陵河谷地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清时村地属南安的六、七都。1981年下半年，村从原大队析出，单独成立潭边大队。1999年7月起属乐峰镇。[2]

名称来历[edit]

村名因村中有一口终年不涸的潭而来，明末黄氏族人沿潭周边建居。[4]

人口民族[edit]

村民792户3750人，设20个村民小组，下辖10个自然村。[1] 百度百科称截至2024年，常住人口约4200人。[3]

地理与经济[edit]

村域面积4.8平方千米，耕地1003亩，山地3000亩。主要种植水稻、小麦和甘薯，林果有茶叶、余甘、桂圆，土特产有木薯。[1][3]
