东溪村位于金淘镇西北，村民先祖多从泉州东门与南安溪仔尾迁来。为纪念故土，各取一字而得村名东溪。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清三代，东溪属十四都，民国时属东门保。新中国成立后归莲坑乡；其后经土地改革，它与盖溪村一并设为盖溪乡，撤乡后才单独建村。公社化期间，东溪与东星村同属东门大队；1958年分出东溪大队，1984年改为东溪村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

东溪村面积约6.10平方千米，四面环山。省道307线贯穿全境。[2][3]

经济[edit]

村中有制衣厂、服装厂与东溪小学，耕地以水稻、小麦、糖蔗为主。村境内盛产草席。[2]
