南金村位于省新镇北部，镇政府以北约3公里，地处南厅盆地的中部，人口比较集中。[1]全村为单一姓氏，都是尤氏。村名原取先祖别号“南卿”，后改称南厅，1980年12月又因南金小学所在而定名南金。[1][2]1999年1月，南金从美林镇划入省新镇。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
宋末元初此地属廿四、五都，直到民国初年。民国时期为崇仁乡圆通保与超圆保。1949年归三区南厅乡；1958年划归南卿公社南厅大队，到1964年南卿公社合并进美林公社。1981年南厅大队解体，设美林公社南金大队。1984年起称美林乡南金村委会，1988年又改为美林镇南金村委会，1999年1月划归省新镇。[3]
人口与村落[edit]
村辖越内、曾官、土楼、美茂、过溪5个自然村，过溪内含4个村落。全村设14个村民小组，有村民1054户、3441人，面积约1.5平方千米。[1][2]
经济与土地[edit]
村中有耕地520亩、山地1021亩，作物以水稻、小麦、甘薯为主，芝麻与花生也有种植；林木有松木、杂木和龙眼。村内设南金小学、卫生所和塑料厂。[2]
文化[edit]
村中的映峰楼是一座土楼，建于清康熙年间，土石结构，高两层，墙厚1.5米。[2]20世纪20年代初修建南金公路后，两侧店铺聚集，形成曾官街道，1999年由省新镇政府主持改建。[2]
