新厅村在省新镇西北部，依傍保福岭，东边与丹清村相邻，西边与垵后村交界，南面靠南金村。[1]村中距镇政府约3.5公里，距南安市区约10公里。[1]村内有唐代的尤宗墓，为市级文物保护单位。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

新厅旧属南安二十四、五都，1949年后设南厅乡。1958年，它归入美林公社的南厅大队；其后的1981年，这一大队分出五个队，其中的新厅独立成队，故名新厅。1988年，它改由美林镇新厅村委会管辖，1999年1月划入省新镇。[1][2]

行政区划与人口[edit]

全村有12个村民小组，下辖的5个自然村依次为尾内、新厅、古井、瓦埔和新林。博雅地名网记现有人口3000人；百度百科记截至2008年人口3000人。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

唐驸马尤宗墓是尤氏始祖的墓葬，因始祖被唐朝封为驸马，墓称驸马墓。墓经多次重修，记载的有清乾隆六年（1741年）冬、1983年和1999年。[2]泉州市文物保护单位名录（市、县级）列有此墓，所在地写作省新镇新厅村。[4]村中另有南安尤氏宗祠，2003年重建。[2]

文化[edit]

2000年，新厅村被南安市委、市政府评为「南安市文明村」；2001、2003、2005年，它先后三次获评「泉州文明村」；2002年又被评为「泉州市宽裕型文明村」。[2]
