洋美社区隶属南安市美林街道，原为洋美村，位于街道驻地东北约1.5公里处，村委会设在加洋自然村。[1][2]
村境内的自然村包括加洋、吕仔山、霞美，另有池头、下山头、内茂、后塘，并设有阳美小学和磨内水库。[2]
地名由来[edit]
村名原作「洋尾」，取加洋和下尾两个自然村各一字而成，后因方言谐音雅化为「洋美」。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
元、明、清时期此地属二十三都；民国年间归崇仁乡管辖，属洋美保。解放后称洋美村，1958年设洋美大队，1985年为美林乡所属的村委会，1988年转属美林镇，1999年起改称美林街道下的洋美村委会。[2]
