吴厝村位于306省道旁，村庄原名东吴，下辖洋垵、吴厝两个自然村。[1][3]

村名经历了几次变化：元末明初曾称东洛，后来吴氏成为全村独姓，改称东吴，清代中叶以后才称吴厝。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明初，吴氏始祖迥龙公由南安迁入，择居于今址，此后子孙繁衍，成为村里的大姓。[3]

1944年属善乡中正保，1956年划入湖北乡，1961年归龙湖公社，设吴厝大队。[2]

1984年设吴厝村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住1950人，外来人口668人，党员50名。[1]

经济[edit]

村里以纺织化纤、水泥建材为主业，辖区共有企业26家，其中规模以上企业4家。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子北面依大牛山，西北方向是金山，南面是白盆山，周围还有赤西山、石盘山等小丘。[3]

村南的溪流自西向东流入衙口海，旧名洛溪，村中吴氏遂称洛溪东吴。[3]
