秀山村位于龙湖镇东北部，下辖历山、山头、山脚等6个自然村，村域面积为2.56平方千米。[1][2]

村名取“秀”与“山”合成：1961年组建生产大队时，取所辖自然村中“秀茂”一类的“秀”字，与历山、山头、山脚的“山”字，合称为秀山。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋时村名为蔡墓山，因蔡氏看中此地风水而得名；元时改称蔡茂，因避墓讳而改，俗称钞茂。[2]

元明时属晋江县十七、十八都，1944年属霞坡乡秀治保。[2]

1961年设龙湖公社秀山大队；1984年村委会称秀山，隶属龙湖乡；1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

村民绝大多数为许氏，蔡氏已经不多，旅居港澳台及菲律宾等东南亚地区的乡亲不少。[2]

经济[edit]

村里有沿街店面百余家，各类小微企业百余家，没有规模以上企业。[1]

2015年，秀山村被评为中国“淘宝村”，2020年、2021年和2022年又先后上榜阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[1][2]
