林口社区是灵源街道下辖的社区，位于街道北部，泉安公路穿过社区，是街道办事处所在地。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明万历元年（1573年），南塘柯姓的一支迁来，在供奉神灵的宫庙旁建居，起初称宫兜。后因村落位于华表山南麓林木繁茂的入口处，改称林口。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋时此地隶属开建乡仁孝里。明清两代归泉州府南门外的五都管辖。1944年划入康乐乡紫华保，1956年改属栖梧区的紫华乡。[1]

1959年起归罗山公社林口大队；1984年罗山乡设林口村委会，1991年改属罗山镇。2003年11月，林口村从罗山镇析出，划归灵源街道，改设林口社区居民委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

洪氏节孝坊立在泉安公路「林口」石碑处，为清代古建筑，属市级文物保护单位。[2]

紫竹寺、圆觉寺和紫林寺都在华表山上。[1]

社区内有紫华中学和华林小学各一所，共有学生1000多人。[1]
