桂山社区位于梅岭街道，辖区面积约2平方千米，2024年户籍人口为3412人。[2][3]

地名由来[edit]

相传古时山上遍植桂树，村落因此得名桂山。民国初年已有桂山保之称。1990年自原有村委会中析出、单独设立村委会时，仍沿用这一名称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，此地先为青阳公社桂山村的一部分，1962年起并入一个合设的大队。[1]

2003年11月，原青阳镇撤并，桂山一带改归梅岭街道，设立桂山社区居民委员会。[1]

社区设置[edit]

辖内分为五个自然角落，居民小组共17个。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予社区「福建省卫生社区」称号；2024年12月，上榜「福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
