下宅村位于永宁镇区东北约4千米，村落四面环山，地势低洼，又称霞泽。[2]

村中旧有五处角落，合称“五下宅”，后因居民多迁离而合为一体。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在溪边低地，遇大雨时溪水暴涨，村地被淹，积水成泽，故称“霞泽”，后谐音改称“下宅”。[3]

地理环境[edit]

村落四面环山，状如盆地。东面有将军山，南面有鸡角山，北面有卧牛山，西南为五虎山。[2]

姓氏宗族[edit]

村中以王、陈、蔡三姓为主。王氏于明初迁入；陈氏先人曾在明初于永宁卫担任将军，后移居于此；蔡氏是后来迁入的。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年办起下宅高级社，后于1962年成为下宅大队，1984年改为村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

2003年6月，曾任印尼总统的瓦希德派专家考察，认定本村为陈金汉的祖籍地。陈金汉是明初迁居印尼的先祖。[4]
