梅林村位于永宁镇南部的梅林半岛上，三面临海，村地形如半月，明清时期曾列为「永宁十八景」之一的「半月沉江」所在。[1][2]

村名来自村南小山坡上的臭梅树，明代大臣黄克缵是本村人。[3][4]

地名由来[edit]

村南一座小山坡绵延二里余，满山长着粿叶树，俗称臭梅树。春夏开花时，花香随南风传出数里，故称“梅林”。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代与民国时期属泉州府二十都。1956年办起梅林高级社，兼营渔农；此后1958年成为梅林大队，1984年改为梅林村民委员会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子三面临海，地形如同半月，海潮涨落时形成「半月沉江」之景，明清时期被列为「永宁十八景」之一。[2]

姓氏宗族[edit]

南宋时泉州南外宗正司的赵氏一支据传迁居村中，建有圣侯宫。明万历年间，部分赵氏族人迁往菲律宾，村中现存「赵厝围」角落地名与赵氏宗祠遗迹。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村东头山上有黄氏祖墓，因黄克缵官至五部尚书，此墓被称为「五部墓」，并演变成为地名。[2]

著名人物[edit]

明代大臣黄克缵是梅林村人，民间称他为「黄五部」，曾任刑部、工部、吏部、兵部尚书。[4][5]
