西港村位于石狮市锦尚镇东部，紧靠厝上溪北岸，是以农业为基础、辖内有纺织服装企业的村落。村名来自古时村子西侧一条直通大海的港沟。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

古时村落西侧有港沟通向大海，村子坐东朝西，临港而建，故名西港。据博雅地名网，村子先由陈氏开基，之后邱氏、朱氏陆续迁入，村落由小乡、上厅、中厝、田墘四个角落组成。[2]

1999年，西港村隶属锦尚镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

渡口旁建有送马宫，保留至今。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

村中共463户，常住人口1805人，其中户籍人口1612人，编为12个村民小组。村内耕地620亩。[1]

村内有企业7家，主要从事纺织与针织服装；村民的收入仍靠农业。[1]
