地名[edit]
村子俗称“埔仔”，因早先村民在前埔山的坡地上建屋居住而得名；前埔山其实只是村中一处小山坡，故又称“前坡”。[2]
“铺锦”是“埔仔”的雅称，与宋代惠安黄氏的迁入有关：据《锦黄衙内房支谱》，黄氏始祖念八公为宋末人，自惠安锦田迁来，故称“铺锦里”，简称“锦里”。[3] 族谱记载，黄氏于南宋景定年间（1260年）迁来。[3]
文化遗产[edit]
宝盖进士坊位于铺锦村古街上，为明代建筑，属市级文物保护单位。[2] 村中黄鳌于嘉靖十四年（1535年）中进士，进士坊之名与他有关。[3]

据2026年3月的行政村简介，村内有村民小组13个，村民代表72名，支部党员91名；村民多以务工为生，小部分从事五金辅料加工，村中有中小企业几十家。[1]
