前坑回族村地处石狮市东郊，属于本市四个少数民族村之一，隶属宝盖镇。[1][3]

村名因村前一大片高低不平的坑地而来，村内以郭姓为主的回族居民较多，村民也称它为“钱山”。[3][4]

地名与人口[edit]

一说元代村前有一大片坑地，故称“前坑”；另一说村中有“坑仔山”，村民在山边建屋，因而得名。[4] 前坑与“钱”谐音，村民因此称“前坑”为“钱坑”，雅称“钱山”。[4]

2026年3月的行政村简介称全村有一千多户，户籍人口3562人；2024年12月的村情页则记为户籍人口4884人，两次的数字并不一致。[1][2]

行政沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属十九都，称钱山；民国时属石狮镇龙福保。1953年成立前坑初级社，1956年升为高级社；1958年组建前坑大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[3]

辖区内有石光中学校区，并有环保、税务、质量监督、检察等市级机关和党校，以及宝盖工商所等单位。[1]
