刘坑村位于上涌镇西北部，是上涌镇政府驻地所在的村，东与上涌、黄井两村相望，西接传豪村，南邻下涌村，北接云路村，距县城有46公里[1][2]。全村面积2.54平方千米，辖7个村民小组，1999年底有318户1336人[2]。博雅地名网称村名因刘姓始祖在坑头一带开基创业而得[2]。2021年11月，村庄获评「2021年福建省卫生村」[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
宋代属常平乡上涌团，明代改属常平乡下涌团，清代归梅上里下涌社。民国初依清制，1935年设刘坑保，划归桂涌乡；1950年为第四区桂涌乡所辖，次年改属第四区云路乡[2]。1958年组建刘坑大队，隶属上涌公社；1984年建刘坑村委会，属上涌乡。2001年起改称上涌镇刘坑村[2]。据博雅地名网，该村旧时是上涌乡的政治、经济与文化中心[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，村庄被确定为「泉州市2019-2021年度市级“一村一品”专业村（乡镇）」，主导产业为大米[2]。
