地名由来[edit]
旧时称富东街，历来是南北商人聚居的地方，社区设立后仍沿用旧名。[4]
历史沿革[edit]
设县之前至1238年，此地称子超路。1239年（南宋嘉熙三年）东岳庙建成后，地名改为岳尾街；清康熙十八年（1679年）又改称东关市，岳尾之名并未中断。[1][3]
1924年定名富东街。1968年至1978年间一度更名东凤街，1979年复称富东街。[3]
此街1963年5月设居民委员会，1997年两镇重新划界后划入浔中镇。2002年居委会改名富东社区，辖区未变，2007年搬迁。[2][3]
1999年末，社区有725户2526人。[2]
