草洋村在福建省泉州市永春县外山乡的北部，与湖洋镇隔山相望，离乡镇区约7.5公里。[1]
村名的来历是：四周群山环绕，中间地势开阔，草木茂盛如同一片平原，先民开发此地时便以草洋为名。[1]
2019年12月，村庄入选国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村名单；2020年12月，被命名为「2020年福建省森林村庄」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
外山与湖洋早年曾多次合并与分开。1961年外山自湖洋划出、设立外山公社后，成立草洋大队；1987年改设草洋村。[1]
经济[edit]
村民以甘薯、花生、水稻等粮食作物为主要种植，山地上种有较多芦柑等果树。[1]
