东溪村地处永春县西北部，属高海拔的边远山区，位置偏僻。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名原作“当魁”，因“当魁”与“东溪”的闽南语读音相近，遂称东溪。[1]

村落所在在明朝属永春县二十二都，其下为安吉保。十九世纪三十年代起，它归锦斗区管辖，称东溪保；四十年代改归蓬壶区东溪保。1958年至1961年间，此地叫蓬壶公社东溪大队；1962年自蓬壶公社分出，并入呈祥公社。1984年起，公社与大队分别改称乡与村委会。[1]

荣誉称号[edit]

2009年，东溪村入选市级新农村建设试点，列为创建村。[1]
