西坪村是坑仔口镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西部的半山顶上，西面与安溪县接壤。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明代，有先人迁到此处，在山坡上的一小块平地建房，地名“西坪”由此得来，后来成为村名。该平地面积约0.0033平方千米。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄位于镇西部的半山顶上，东侧和南侧与玉西村相邻，西面与安溪县接壤，北面通往下洋镇，距镇区约5公里。[1]

全村分为5个角落，即荷殊、西坪、寨头、洞口、苏坑，下设13个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国元年（1912年）此地为玉坑乡的西坪保。新中国成立后，村子几经改隶：先在第一、第二、第三区之间变动，后划入玉坑区，再属锦斗区。[1]

1961年，坑仔口人民公社成立，此处称西坪大队。到1984年，公社改乡，大队改为西坪村委会。[1]
