下洋村为永春县下洋镇的一个行政村，地处镇中心区，镇政府即设在这个村里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地在1961年设立革命委员会，并以它为基础组成生产大队；到1984年，大队转为村民委员会。[1]

村名的由来，据博雅地名网所载，是村子四周群山环抱，地势低洼。[1]

1991年，福建省委与省政府将下洋村评为「明星村」。2017至2019年度，该村被评为市级文明村。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村落在晋江上游东溪的源头一带，沿溪两岸展开，四周群山环绕，村中矿产与森林资源丰富。[1][3]

203省道与356国道从村中穿过，与三泉高速的下洋互通口只隔约0.5公里，出行便利。[2]
