白玉村隶属祥华乡，位于佛耳山东北麓的山坳中，在乡政府驻地南偏西约7.2公里处，海拔1005米。村民主要为詹姓。村中有明代冶银、冶铁遗址。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

民国初年设立多卿乡后，此地划为一个保，保址设在玉石村一带。取玉石的「玉」字，与另一地名中的「白」字相合，定名白玉保，其后发展为村名白玉。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、明、清时期属积德乡崇信里多卿坊；民国时期属多卿乡白玉保。中华人民共和国成立后划入第十四区白玉乡；1958年改隶长坑区多卿公社，1959年成为长坑区白玉公社，1961年编为祥华公社的白玉大队。进入1984年后，它成为祥华乡白玉村民委员会。[1][3]

地理与遗迹[edit]

村子位于佛耳山东北麓，海拔1005米。明代，此地已有冶银、冶铁遗址留存。[1][4]
