钱塘村位于龙涓镇境内，村名先后经历仓厦、前塘两次更改，最终由谐音定为钱塘。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据当地王氏族谱，村中王姓先人原住芦田的招坑，后在湄田买田筑仓屋，迁居湄田后称“仓厦”。明朝时改称前塘，再由谐音改为钱塘。[1]

明清时期此地为龙涓里燕尾湄上乡，民国时属龙涓乡三乡保的几个自然村。新中国成立后曾归玳堤乡、三乡乡，1961年8月分出，独立设钱塘大队；1984年7月起称龙涓乡钱塘村。[1]

村中以王姓为主，先祖自招坑迁入后在此聚居。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月，命名钱塘村为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
