银坑村位于尚卿乡境内，旧名土坑，因清代烧制瓷器而改称银坑；村中的银坑窑为省级文物保护单位。[1][2]

名称与沿革[edit]

此地原称土坑，又名窑坑，原为一处山沟。清乾隆年间（1736年至1795年），科名黄氏兄弟到此烧制瓷器，外乡人遂称之为银坑。[1]

明清时属金田乡兴二里。1952年时归第十一区南斗乡，1958年并入长坑公社，称银坑大队，1965年随尚卿公社划出，1984年改为尚卿乡银坑村。[1]

文物与旧地名[edit]

银坑窑为省级文物保护单位，年代为明清，属古文化遗址。[2]

旧有苦坑，在石狮山北坡，村民生活艰难，故称苦坑。1987年，该处1户10人迁居下窑自然村，村落遂废。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，列入安溪县2020至2021年度「文明村镇」名单。[1]
