宝潭村是西坪镇下辖的行政村，村中有一方大潭，村名由此而来。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村中原有一方大潭，溪水自南北两侧汇入，形成深潭，早称园潭，又称下深溪。1981年9月，因本县另有一村同名，改名宝潭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清两代归崇信里。民国时期隶属宝西保，1952年又隶第八区珠洋乡。1979年11月，由原有大队析分为三个行政村；1981年本村改称宝潭大队，1984年改为宝潭村。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年1月，本村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
