岭西村位于感德镇西部，村名的来历是：村中有三条小溪流过，古称“三坑仔”，后人把“三”字改成“西”，又因在镇政府的西边而定名。[1]

岭西村是老区基点村，村中的居民以上官姓为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

约300年前，有一支人家由他处迁来定居，即本村的开基。[1]

1952年属第十三区的一个乡，1958年划入感德公社的一个大队；1982年析出称岭西大队，1983年成为独立村，1984年改设感德乡的岭西村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域分为西坑仔、尾园、石古坑等七个角落，面积约25000亩。[1]
