竹林村位于蓬莱镇南部，东邻彭格村，西与鸿福村相邻，村辖两个自然角落。[1][3]

地名与开基[edit]

村名取自竹塔自然村的「竹」字与院宅林自然村的「林」字。[2]

明朝成化年间，祖先在本地开基，垦荒耕种，后代有人外迁谋生，远及新加坡、印度尼西亚等地。[3]

沿革[edit]

村址在明清时属修仁乡崇善里，民国时期划入城苑镇彭格保。1952年归第二区彭格乡，1958年随彭格并入蓬莱公社的大队。1978年下半年另立竹林大队，1984年改设竹林村委会。[4]

竹塔自然村以李姓为主，院宅林自然村以陈姓为主。[3]
