上东村位于蓬莱镇西北部，距蓬莱镇政府约5千米，村域面积4.8平方千米，下辖10个自然村。[1][2]

地名与历史[edit]

村内溪水自西向东流，村名由此得来。[3]

此地在明清时期属金田乡兴二里。1984年成立蓬莱镇上东村，设村委会；此前曾数度分设、合并为大队。[4]

宫庙与民俗[edit]

村中的水美宫依山而建，坐西南向东北，为重檐歇山顶建筑，内祀麻三相公。宫庙2003年被列为县级文物保护单位。[2]

每年农历八月初一为麻三相公的诞辰，届时村里演出高甲戏、木偶戏，善男信女前来观看。[2]

2005年，村中新建龙美殿、天桥和桥亭，经由海外乡亲和善信捐资续建。[2]
