燎原村是东桥镇下辖的行政村，村内洋下自然村保存有许氏宗祠与蓉霞寺旧址。村名的来历：1958年周边数个聚落联合组成生产大队，因村落众多又分散，取名燎原。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属泉州北门外的三十三都，设梅庄铺。1958年划入飞跃人民公社东桥管理区，多个聚落联合组成燎原生产大队。1961年政社分立，归东岭人民公社。1962年，部分聚落析出另立生产大队，余下的仍沿用燎原之名。1984年设燎原村委会；1997年东桥乡镇设立，它成为东桥镇的燎原村民委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

燎原许氏宗祠在洋下自然村，始建于康熙末年（1722年），坐北朝南偏西，祀厅三开间，硬山屋顶，屋脊作燕尾形。宗祠在2005年经过重修，原来的木柱换成了石柱；大门前还保留着清代旗杆石夹坂两对。[2]

燎原蓉霞寺旧址同在洋下自然村，寺院可追溯到宋代，现存建筑为2001年重建，两进三开间，硬山式屋顶，大殿前立有一对透雕辉绿岩石龙柱。[2]
