历史沿革[edit]
民国时此地属霞莲铺。1951年建乡，取新亭尾的「新」字与霞莲铺的「霞」字，设新霞乡；合作化时新霞乡撤销。[1]
1988年至1997年属螺阳镇管辖，称新霞村；1997年起归螺城镇，设新霞居委会；2003年改称新霞社区居委会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
新亭尾天后宫位于螺城镇新亭尾，年代为清，属古建筑，为市级文物保护单位。宫或许创建于清康熙年间，雍正六年（1728年）经知县韩从玉召集众人重修。[1]
