南埔村是福建省泉州市泉港区南埔镇下辖的行政村，位于泉港区北部，与界山镇岭头村相接。村域内有太白峰，山间有区级重点文物保护单位重光寺。全村下辖19个自然村，主村在新街自然村。[1][2]

名称来历[edit]

关于“南埔”之名，有两种说法。一说早年这里是避风的海湾，称「贵澳」，又名「蚶海」，后因泥沙堆积成陆，位于山内南面，俗称南埔。另一说始祖自诚公由莆田迁居惠安莲峰山下，因莆田位于此地之北，遂称此地为南埔。[6]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，这里先后称太白乡、天马乡，后又改称南埔乡。1949年8月惠安解放后，在南埔街建立乡级人民政权，定名南埔乡。[4]

1958年改称超先人民公社，村名随之改为南埔大队；1984年改称南埔镇南埔村民委员会。[4]

地理环境[edit]

村域属低山地带。太白峰顶部一带有壹尖山、贰尖山和公背婆等山头，山间还有重光寺等古迹。村内耕地约1260亩，山地1760亩，主要种植龙眼等果树。[1]

人口与村务[edit]

2024年村务公开资料载，全村有8900多人，现住的居民约6000人，其中60岁以上的老人有1731人。村党总支下设3个党支部，有党员207人。[2]

村内有南埔中心小学和南埔中心幼儿园，商家店面170余家。2015年度的先进基层党组织，以及2016年、2017年和2019年度的党建工作先进村，均为村委会所获称号，另有区级文明村等荣誉。[2]

据博雅地名网，南埔集镇位于南枫路一线，是镇里商贸活动较集中的地方。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

重光寺建在重光山脚，寺门朝南。寺宇的前身可追溯到明代泰昌年间，光绪三年（1877年）又经修建，现存两座殿堂。[5]

区政府网站称重光寺为区级重点文物保护单位，百度百科则记1985年列为泉州市文物保护单位，两说不一。[1][5]
