新宅社区是泉港区山腰街道下辖的社区，位于街道西北部，驿峰公路贯穿全境。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名的来历：据博雅地名网所载，先人自江西迁来，初居面前山一带，称上厝；后因海浪冲击，才在塔山左侧另建新村，遂名「新宅」。[1]

明清两代这里归七都安埕铺管辖；民国时为锦凤乡下的锦塔保。1949年冬以后先后隶属八区、十区、十三区，在山腰镇时期则同属锦塔乡。[1]

1961年起为山腰公社的新宅大队。1985年设立山腰乡新宅村委会；2003年转为社区委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

辖区内有民间南音社团，各自然村均设有老年协会和老年活动中心。[2]
