新铺社区属华大街道，地处泉州东北郊，离市中心约5公里，西面接清源山东南麓。社区名称沿用驻地新铺村的名称，2003年由村改为社区。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代该地属晋江县三十七都，民国时属晋江县东北乡东南保。新中国成立初期隶属新前乡，称新铺村；1961年曾设泉州市第二畜牧场，1963年场址撤销后成为城东公社新铺大队；1984年称城东乡新铺村。2003年村改为社区。[1][2][3]

位置与地貌[edit]

社区东边接南埔社区，西边抵清源山东南麓，南面与城东街道相邻，北面与华侨大学相望。社区处于丘陵地带，面积约2平方千米。[2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内有王审邽墓，属唐代大型墓葬，位于草邦水库北面的皇绩山麓。该墓于2005年5月11日被公布为省级文物，属福建省第六批名单。[4][5]

物产[edit]

社区有成片的龙眼园，鲜果与龙眼干销往外地。[2]
