南埔社区隶属华大街道，在泉州东门外，地处324国道西南侧，与华侨大学毗连，西北面接清源山风景区。社区名称出自魏氏先祖在南面草地开辟宅居、之后形成村落的旧事。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地归三十八都福林铺管辖，民国时期划入东洛镇。1950年代，它先后归晋江县第二区与第三区管；1956年并入东星乡，1958年划归东海公社。1961年的城东公社下设南埔大队，1984年为城东乡南埔村。2003年，丰泽区推行镇改街道、村改社区，本村改为南埔社区并设居委会。[1][2][3]

地理环境[edit]

社区东面到浔美工业开发区，西北面临清源山风景区，西邻新铺社区，北面至城东社区，设6个居民小组。[2]

经济[edit]

多数居民的收入来自房屋出租和外出务工，此外社区也种植龙眼。[2]
