名称由来[edit]

博雅地名网称，社区因位于南北两段的自然分界处而得名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立时，这里属晋江县第四区南山乡。此后经过多次行政调整，1958年8月并入泉州市江南公社，编为路边大队；1984年改称江南路边村，村委会设在本村；2003年由村改为居委会，设路边社区居民委员会。[2]

概况[edit]

辖区面积约0.2平方千米，由路边、下宅、东宅三个自然村组成，有227户、874人（2012年社区概况）。[1]

辖区内规模较大的企业约9家，以汽配和加工业为主。[1]
