水门社区位于海滨街道，因古城南薰门俗称「水门」而得名。博雅地名网载，元至正十二年（1352年）泉州郡守契玉立南拓罗城，在今水门巷竹街三义庙前建南薰门，以便通往晋江，城门因此俗称水门[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

2002年5月，原新民、水门两个居委会整合为水门社区[2]。此前，这一带在1955年至1960年间属泉州市第二街道水门街，1966年至1980年间称海滨人民公社跃进街，1981年起设水门居委会[2][3]。

名胜古迹[edit]

北宋元祐二年（1087年）设立的市舶司，其遗址在水门社区水沟2号，2020年列入福建省第九批省级文物保护单位[4][5]。永潮宫在四堡街，一堡宫（泉郡日月太保宫）也在本社区，二者均为市级文物保护单位[1][6]。花桥慈济宫在中山南路553号，为福建省级文物保护单位[7][8]。
