桂溪村位于西洋镇东北部，是革命老区村，村民由汉、回、畲等民族组成。国家级天宝岩自然保护区位于该村境内。[1]
村名的来历是境内有一条桂溪河。2024年7月，该村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」，同月又被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年改设桂溪村，同时成立村民委员会，同年建办公大楼。此前，明清时属永安二十七都，民国时属上桂乡，1950年归二区的上桂乡，1956年9月改属西洋区桂溪乡。1958年10月并入西洋公社，成为其桂溪大队。[1]
