新桥村位于新桥乡中部，村部驻新桥，海拔600米，是全乡政治、经济和文化的中心。四至方面，东面以枫源、岭下、汾信为界，南面是坑坪村，西面紧挨水源与大兴，北面则与大源、王明相接。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时，新桥属绥城乡清泰里安仁保。1931年至1934年苏维埃时期，村中设新桥乡苏维埃政府，隶属新桥区。此后1934年6月起归五区管辖，1940年划入安仁乡，1944年改属崇仁乡，1948年复归安仁乡。[2]

新中国成立后，1950年12月起至1951年12月止期间，村中设新桥乡政府，归第四区管辖。1958年，村里成为新桥生产大队，归上游公社统辖，次年转入朱口公社，1961年划入新桥公社。1984年9月1日起称村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

新桥反击战遗址位于村北的瑶际蓬。[3]

水埠水库位于水埠自然村，1978年建成，是全省海拔最高的中型水库。[4][5]

县文物普查名录中，本村有东窑、西窑两处窑址，东窑为宋元遗存，西窑为宋代遗存；另有新桥庆云寺遗址（宋）、茜源水口桥（宋）、柞树坪遗址与新庙后遗址（夏商周），以及茜源邓氏宗祠、茜源邓家宅、柞树坪严家宅（均为清代）。[4]

西坊邓植将军墓是县级文物保护单位，位于西坊自然村，年代为宋。[4]

窑排岭反围剿阻击战旧址在本村，建于1934年。[4]
