大湖村位于下渠镇西北部。村名的来历是旧时溪水暴涨、积水成湖[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋至元代，村域属崇礼乡高平里的永兴保，明至清代改属永兴下保；民国初至1931年仍属永兴下保，归南乡管辖。1931年6月至1934年7月这里设为大湖乡，归大湖区管辖。1934年编入大湖联保，隶属三区；1936年改入西南联保，归一区。1940年设大湖保，归三区开永乡；1941年改属一区开永乡，1943年回到开永乡，1944年划归弋梅乡。解放后，1951年复设大湖乡，隶属三区；1956年并入下渠乡，1958年归一大队管辖，1959年分出另设大湖大队，1962年划归下渠公社。1984年改为大湖村，2018年11月归属下渠镇[3]。

区域面积1.28万亩，其中山地12251亩、耕地1611亩，耕地中水田1543亩[1]。
