东石村属杉城镇，位于县城东部，距县城约7公里，东与将乐县接壤。全村分为王溪、乾尾两片，共9个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年12月至1951年12月设东石乡政府，隶属一区；1956年东石并入王石乡，改属朱口区。1958年，东石自王石分出，另设生产大队；1959年划出八里桥另立耕作区。[2]

1980年归杉城公社，1984年9月设为村民委员会，归杉城镇。[2]

革命历史[edit]

据博雅地名网，1931年至1936年间约有30余人参加红军；另有8人担任过苏维埃政府的要职。解放后，20多人被追认为烈士。[1]

江嫩姑曾任东石苏维埃主席，1933年遇害。[1]

古迹[edit]

乾尾（原称茶石坑）的建筑约建于明末清初，至今已有400余年。[1]

2013年名录登记上王溪江氏祖屋（清代），在东石行政村上王溪自然村。[3]
