张姓先人在此开基时，这里多生野芹，村因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年改为芹洋村，设村民委员会。[1]
芹洋旧属尤溪二十八都。1953年归坂面区公所管辖，设芹洋乡；1958年建芹洋大队。[1]
