地名由来[edit]
村子周边树林茂密，树枝形如上举的手臂，村名因此而来。[3]
人口[edit]
全村117户531人（博雅地名网，未注统计年份），分为四个生产队。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村里水利条件较好，主要河流自洋头流向洋尾。荒山上已种了毛竹。[2]
经济[edit]
粮食以水稻、甘薯为主，经济作物有烟草、黄豆和马铃薯。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
古属西区聚贤里，民国末归桃源镇。1949年后曾归桃源区管辖，1961年另设上举大队，1984年起改称上举村，设委员会。[4]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱国卫生运动委员会授予上举村「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，时间为2022年12月。[1]
2024年7月，上举村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
