长溪村位于大田县城西南部，离县城中心约9公里，隶属石牌镇。村域东侧与均溪镇的福塘村、石牌村为邻，南侧有上坡村与京程村，西侧通向桃山村，北侧则与均溪镇宋京村相连。[1][2]

村子由长柄尾、盂宅、初坑、溪柄4个自然村组成，居住地海拔410米。村域土地面积7.3平方千米。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村名取自辖内长柄尾与溪柄两个自然村的名称，各取一字组合而成。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子坐落在闽中戴云山西麓，梅林溪流经其中3个村庄，宋京小溪在村境内汇入。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期属坊都，1940年划入大田第一区，1949年归均溪镇，1950年成为大田均溪区的宋京乡。1964年划入红湖公社。[1]

1984年乡制恢复后，此村归石牌乡管辖；1997年改制设镇，村委会改称石牌镇长溪村村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

涉车产业是村里的主导产业，汽车销售、运输、培训、维修、检测和物流等行业吸纳了不少村民。[1][2]
