上坪村距沙芜乡政府约8公里，村名因村前一块大坪而来，村庄建在大坪后上方。博雅地名网称该村为全乡最大的行政村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

公社化后的1958年设上坪大队，1961年又单独设为上坪大队，1984年改称上坪村民委员会，沿用至今。[2][3]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予上坪村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2022年10月，村子被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2023年12月，获认定为「2023年度福建省一村一品专业村」（渔业）；2024年7月，被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[2]

经济[edit]

村民以种植烟叶和水面养殖为主。[2] 乡政府网站所列的沙芜乡特产中，有上坪山地西瓜。[1]
