东周村位于南霞乡西部，离乡政府约5公里，下辖两个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自两个自然村「东盂」「周坑」的首字。[2]

1984年改为东周村村民委员会，此前经历多次调整。明清时属八都，民国时期隶属南霞乡的蒋龙保；建国初为二区蒋坡乡的辖地，1951年7月划入九区，1955年归镇头区蒋坡乡，1958年并入南坑仔乡，同年10月列为蒋坡大队的一部分；1961年10月另立东周大队。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年7月，东周村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[2]
